Most clients enjoy smooth underarms for two to six weeks, depending on hair growth rate and aftercare. Regular waxing can slow regrowth and extend intervals between appointments. Expect gradual regrowth rather than stubble.
A mild level of redness or sensitivity can occur, especially after first appointments. Therapists use gentle wax and soothing aftercare to minimize irritation; avoid tight clothing and harsh products for 24 hours.
Trim or let hair grow to about quarter-inch (4–6 mm) before appointment; short regrowth ensures effective removal. Avoid shaving for at least two weeks so roots are intact for waxing.
Most clients book every three to six weeks depending on individual growth and preference. Your therapist can recommend a schedule to maintain smoothness and reduce discomfort as hair becomes finer with regular waxing.
Avoid applying deodorant or antiperspirant before waxing, as it can interfere with wax adhesion and cause irritation. After 24 hours, use gentle, alcohol-free products to soothe skin; avoid heavy fragrances immediately after waxing.
Ideal hair length is about quarter-inch (4–6 mm) so the wax can grip hair at the root. Very short hair may not remove well, while very long hair may be trimmed for comfort.
