Most clients feel brief discomfort during hair removal, but hard wax grips hair not skin, reducing pulling and irritation. We use calming techniques and aftercare to minimize pain; topical numbing available upon request for very sensitive clients.
Hair should be at least 1/4 inch (about 6mm) so the hard wax can grip properly. If hair is too short, we may ask you to wait; if too long, we’ll trim briefly for a faster, more comfortable service.
Most clients enjoy smooth results for three to six weeks depending on hair growth cycle and individual factors. Regular scheduling can lengthen intervals as hair grows finer and sparser. We recommend follow-up waxing every four to six weeks for maintenance.
Waxing is generally safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but increased sensitivity and skin changes may occur. We advise consulting your healthcare provider, and inform your therapist about pregnancy to adjust pressure and aftercare. Patch test available if you’re concerned about reactions.
Avoid hot baths, saunas, vigorous exercise, and sun exposure for 24-48 hours to reduce irritation and infection risk. Use gentle, fragrance-free moisturizers and exfoliate lightly after 48 hours to prevent ingrown hairs. Follow any personalized instructions from your therapist.
Yes — we offer patch tests for clients with sensitive skin or allergy concerns. Schedule a brief patch appointment at least 24-48 hours before your full service so we can check skin reaction and ensure a safe, comfortable waxing experience.
